Yes, yes, I do think about you guys… So Singapore just had its first Modest Fashion Week in April 2017. It was held from the 14th until the 16th of April at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The event featured Modest Fashion designers from Singapore, Malaysia as well as Indonesia.

Talk about controversy…

Kendall Jenner faced some backlash after being put in Vogue India’s 10th year anniversary issue.

Followers of Vogue India were deeply displeased commenting on whether all the Indian models were taken. This brought up issues of ‘whitewashing”, the concept of whitewashing is basically when people of colour are replaced by ‘white’ people in what would be a typically non-white role.

Halima Aden who is a Somali American Fashion model was born in a refugee camp in Kenya and moved to the United States of America at the age of six.

Halima is the very first woman in Hijab (headscarf) to walk the runway. She starred in Kanye West’s New York Fashion Show Season Five edition. At the mere age of nineteen, Halima is breaking grounds for all Hijabi’s in the world of fashion.
